Start with the plant, not the photo

Climbing roses and vigorous vines need a wide, sturdy panel they can be tied into as canes thicken. Pole beans want height and something they can wrap. Indeterminate tomatoes benefit from a strong vertical frame you can weave or clip into through the season. Match structure to habit before you fall in love with a silhouette.

Rose trellis: classic panel support

A rose trellis is usually a flat panel sized for training canes. Our rose trellis stands five feet high and three feet wide, with an extra six inches to set into the soil. Pressure-treated lumber and galvanized fasteners help it handle wind and wet ground. Use it on a south- or west-facing border where roses get sun and you can reach in to prune.

Fan trellis: decorative fence-line climber

Fan trellises spread upward and outward, perfect against a fence or wall where you want a softer outline than a rigid grid. They suit flowering vines and lighter climbers. Brookside Farm fan trellises are available in multiple heights so you can scale the support to the plant and the backdrop.

Pyramid trellis: freestanding focal point

A pyramid trellis stands on its own in a bed or large planter. Beans, flowering vines, and compact climbers can spiral up the sides while the tapered form anchors the planting. Ours include a standard cap, with optional ball or gothic caps if you want a more formal finish.

Square trellis: custom grid for exact spaces

When a fence bay, wall, or vegetable bed needs exact dimensions, a square trellis grid is the flexible answer. Our square trellis is quote-only—share width and height and we will build it from pressure-treated lumber to fit.
